Dimensional felting involves using resists to create seamless hollow forms, in any shape you desire. This technique is commonly used to make vessels, slippers, hats, clothing, sculptural works as well as one of our favourites – bags! Beautiful, unique, and durable. A bag can be created in any size or shape and is a great canvas for experimenting with new surface techniques. We will cover resist making, measuring, shaping, shaping and finishing, all while making your own personalized, functional art.
This is an intermediate level class-for those with some feltmaking experience. If you are a beginning feltmaker, work through the Introduction to Flat Feltmaking tutorial to help you prepare for this workshop.
Students can expect to take 8-12 hours to work through all the class materials including making a sample and a finished bag.
This is a self paced tutorial. You have access to the full online classroom, with videos, PDFs, and online classroom pages, but can work through the lessons at your own pace, anytime you want. These are not supported classes- there aren’t any ongoing discussions but the instructions are very thorough and time proven! Your have lifetime access to the class materials.
