Felt Luminaries

This is a time of year that truly inspires me to work with felt and lighting in all of its forms!

Whether you are in the Northern Hemisphere approaching the shortest day, or in the Southern Hemisphere celebrating the longest, we can all take a moment to celebrate the light—both the physical glow and the spiritual warmth. Light is the perfect metaphor for hope, mindfulness, and caring, and felt lighting brightens any living space with a wonderfully warm, soft glow.

This Felt luminary is an easy to complete project that will bring this beautiful light into your home! The surface patterning works with felt inclusions, a versatile technique  I’ve been using and sharing for over 15 years. It offers so much potential for you to personalize your light.  Every light will be unique!

Workshop Fee:  $87.00

These luminaries make thoughtful gifts and don’t take long to make.

The whole project takes about 4–6 hours to complete. You can make it all at once or spread it out over several sessions, whatever fits your schedule best.

This project is good for every skill level.

If you’re a beginner, as long as you know how to lay out wool and have a basic understanding of the felting process, you’ll be set! If you’re an experienced feltmaker, you’ll find this to be a relaxing project to work on. Plus, you can join a lovely group of felting friends in the online discussion space! I am really looking forward to this time together— an online social gathering as well as a learning experience!

The workshop is presented through prerecorded videos and a detailed PDF. There is no live component to this class so you can work on at any time that best suits you.  You have lifetime access to the course materials, meaning for as long as I am teaching online. (This will be years and years! You’ll have lots of time!)
